Irrational Games being shuttered

Irrational Games, the studio behind System Shock 2, Freedom Force, SWAT 4, Tribes Vengeance, Bioshock and Bioshock: Infinite, will be effectively shut down after the release of Burial at Sea: Episode 2 on March 25, according to Ken Levine on a post on Irrational Game’s website. According to Levine, “while I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together, my passion has turned to making a different kind of game than we’ve done before. The Mario vs. Donkey Kong series may have officially debuted on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, but the series truly started back on the original Game Boy with Donkey Kong ’94. Rather than offer gameplay as simplistic as the original arcade version of Donkey Kong with Jumpman, Mario instead must solve puzzle after puzzle to best his rival Donkey Kong. Pokemon Generations Episode 4 Investigates The Red Gyarados

Pokemon Generations was first unveiled last month and is now in its third week of episodes, which have previously focused on characters like Giovanni and Blue. This one takes a different turn though as the events move onto something from the Gold/Silver era.
