BioShock: The Collection Officially Revealed, Releasing In September

BioShock-The-Collection-September

While yesterday we got some leaks that strongly hinted that 2K Games would be releasing a collection of the first 3 BioShock games, the developer has now come out and confirmed just that. BioShock: The Collection has been officially announced and will be out this September.

The Collection packages together BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, with the 3 games being remastered and containing all additional content. It is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC by Blind Squirrel Games and will cost $60.

The PC version of Infinite will not be getting a visual update, as they claim that the base game is already on the level of current generation console hardware standards. Also, the multiplayer component of BioShock 2 is not included in the package.

In terms of additional content that this package brings to the table, there will be a new video series called Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock that features commentary from creative director Ken Levine and animation lead Shawn Robertson.

There will also be a virtual museum called Museum of Orphaned Concepts included with the original BioShock, which contains concepts that were left on the cutting room floor. Challenge rooms are also being added, which feature puzzles that are linked to new achievements.

BioShock: The Collection will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 13th. Check out the announcement trailer below.
