Halo 5: Guardians Has Split-screen Multiplayer But Only On The Agents of Shield TV Show

Halo-51

An interesting scene occurred on an episode of Agents of Shield earlier this month as the characters were actually playing Halo 5: Guardians via split-screen multiplayer.

As reported by SegmentNext, an episode of Agents of Shield showed Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and Mac (Henry Simmons) playing Halo 5: Guardians. The interesting part is that they are playing the “Warzone” mode via split-screen multiplayer using the same Xbox One console.

As we all know, this is wrong because the game has no offline split-screen multiplayer whatsoever. 343 Industries wanted to keep the game 60fps and did not want to downgrade the visuals and performance to add split-screen.

One of the actors of Agents of Shield, Clark Gregg, tweeted that one of the characters from the TV show “hacked” the game in order to get the game to do split-screen.

In the real-life version of the game, the Warzone mode is an online-only affair. It has a mix of 18 human players with A.I. enemies, bosses and vehicles. It is arguably the best multiplayer mode in the entire game.

Anyway, it’s safe to say the writers of the Agents of Shield TV show are not aware of the accuracies of video games. However, it would have been cool if Halo 5: Guardians actually did have split-screen multiplayer…
