How to Install Shaders in Minecraft 1.18

Once you have found the shader you want to install into your game, download not only the shader you want to install but also Optifine for 1.18.
Click on the green “Download” button for both files and continue to click through the “Download” buttons until your files make it to the “Downloads” folder on your PC. Head to your File Explorer and put the Optifine folder and your shader pack folder onto your desktop.
If you try to open Optifine but it causes an error on your PC, head over to the Java 17 download page to get Java 17 to make Optifine work on Minecraft 1.18.
After this, you will need to open Optifine on your PC. If you get another error after downloading Java 17, you will need to download the Jarfix Repair tool to fix the .jar files on your PC.
Once you have fixed your .jar files on your computer, you can now run Optifine to get it installed onto your game. Open the Optifine installer using Java 17 to install Optifine to Minecraft 1.18.
To install your newest shader, open the Minecraft Launcher and click “Play.” Once you have the game loaded up, click “Options,” then “Video Settings,” then “Shaders.” Keep Anti-Aliasing “Off” to install shaders.
How to Use Shaders in Minecraft 1.18
When you click the “Shaders” button on the bottom left of your screen, a new folder will open called the “Shaders Folder.” Drag and drop the shaders from your desktop to the shaders in this file folder. After you’ve done that, you can turn any shader on or off in your settings in Minecraft 1.18.
