Nintendo is hopeful that Rockstar Games will see the value in bringing GTA V to the Wii U, said Reggie Fils-Aime in a recent interview. While the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will arrive this spring, there are still questions looming about other platforms.
Fils-Aime told MTV in a recent interview that he thinks it’s Nintendo’s responsibility to make Rockstar want to develop games for their platform, by having a large install base.
“In the end, it is Nintendo’s responsibility to have a large installed base, to have development tools that help the developers and publishers create great content, and essentially create an environment where teams like Rockstar can bring their very best content to our platform, and if we do that hopefully the very best content throughout the entire industry will show up on Wii U.”
Earlier in this week, Dan Houser of Rockstar Games told IGN that it was considering all potential platforms for the game, but only the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were definite.
