Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – How to Save

Sekiro-Shadows-Die-Twice-How-to-Save

There are fewer things more important in a video game than your actual save file, and there are few games where it’s more important than in a FromSoftware title. These games are so tough and challenging that losing any progress can be a huge headache. This was true of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, and it’s true with their latest game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. So, this leaves us with the eternal question of how to save in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The answer, like it was for Dark Souls, is basically that you don’t need to. These games are built off of a very thorough autosave feature that triggers very frequently. You don’t need to do anything but play the game and stop when you’re ready. When this happens you do want to head into the menu and choose “Quit Game” though. This is basically how you save in Sekiro, triggering a final auto-save that will make sure you end up right where you left off.

Or near it, at least. You’ll typically start the game at the last Sculptor’s Idol you stopped at, so keep that in mind. Don’t quit your game randomly, be precise and thoughtful with it, making sure your progress is being registered as you make your way through ancient Japan.

And that’s how to save in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Be sure to check out our other guides for help with any aspect of the game.
