Sniper Elite 5 Players Want Crouch Running to Return After Removal

Sniper-Elite-5

Sniper Elite 5 players are not quite happy with one of the movement mechanics in this new release. Some of them are sharing their experiences and looks like there is more than one player worried about this new take on the game’s movement system.

Sniper Elite 5 launched today, and so far, the game has been gathering some positive reviews among the gaming community. Metacritic gave it an 83 out of 100, and through many reviews, the feeling is quite the same. On Steam, many players have been giving the title some mixed reviews; many fans of the series are having mixed feelings about the new entry in the Sniper Elite series.

Hours ago, a Reddit user made a post on the Sniper Elite subreddit, complaining about the movement that he and many other players have been dealing with since they got their hands on the title. The user talked about how the movement in Sniper Elite 4 felt better and smoother overall, in contrast to how the movement feels on this release. According to the user, the transition between crouching and running feels jarring and unnatural. Making stealth feel everything but smooth. Prompting other players to share their experiences and the need for the crouch running animation to make a comeback in this release.

The crouch running animation needs to come back to SE5 from sniperelite

According to the users that commented on said post, the movement feels different from Sniper Elite 4, and according to a user, it feels like the developers took some mechanics of the previous release and did them differently. Something that most players did not appreciate. Even though some players think that crouch running is something rather silly in real life, some of them deem it as something needed in the title.

The movement mechanic is not the only thing developers changed in Sniper Elite 5, now shooting your sniper rifle from the third person will not be possible by just half-pressing one of the triggers, now players will have to press the A or X button on their controllers while aiming to aim in third-person.

These are not the only complaints made by fans of the franchise, but it sure is one of the most impactful when it comes to gameplay. All in all, the future of the game is still bright, so developers should be able to release some updates to tweak and modify some aspects of the game.

Sniper Elite 5 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S. Check out our Sniper Elite 5 review, and find out if you should give the title a try.
