This spectacular Metal Gear Solid V cosplay has real wolves

Cosplayers Maul Cosplay and Maja Felicitas, of Defcon Unlimited, and photographer eosAndy were commissioned as part of the promotion for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and its culminated in some of the best cosplay we’ve ever seen.

It’s clear that the cosplayers have put a lot of work into this shoot, resulting in spitting images of Big Boss (Snake), Quiet and D-Dog. And yes, D-Dog is an actual wolf.

Courtesy of a company by the name of Filmwölfe Lobine, these professionally handled wolves are not pets, but they sure as heck are beautiful.

We won’t deny that there’s a lot of filters and Photoshopping evident, but for all of the post-processing work, you can’t take away from the quality and execution of the cosplay.

Besides, the makeup and filters are in place to reproduce the colours and aesthetic of a video game, colours that don’t otherwise exist in natural, real world light. Metal Gear Solid V, great as it may look visually, doesn’t actually look like the real world.

I’m dumbstruck by the images created; in fact, they look like they’re straight out of the video game, minus the missing eye patch for D-Dog.

If you’d like to see more of the shoot, we suggest you check out Defcon Unlimited’s album here.
